WE’RE WITH YOU: Counsel and Encouragement From Your Brethren,” Deseret Book, $14.99, 288 pages (nf)

Much of the time, life is hard, but people are never left entirely alone to meet their challenges and be the best possible versions of themselves.

“We’re With You: Counsel and Encouragement From Your Brethren” is a compilation of writings from members of the First Presidency and Quorum of the Twelve Apostles of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints that help in this shared journey through the joys and challenges of mortality.

The writings draw from the teachings of the LDS Church leaders to young adults and include excerpts from devotionals, firesides and graduation ceremonies.

The authors write as both leaders and brothers, giving counsel as leaders and sharing wisdom born of common experiences as brothers.

“We’re With You” is filled with helpful teachings that range from specific questions dealing with how to handle a seeming lack of answers to prayer, to more general yet intimate reminders of our identities as children of God.

Although the book draws from teachings of LDS Church leaders given to young adults, its contents are applicable to all ages.

Royalties from the book are donated to the general missionary fund of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints.
