Sen. Jeff Flake, R-Ariz., honored the life of Elder Von G. Keetch when he spoke on the Senate floor this morning.
Elder Keetch, General Authority Seventy and Executive Director of Public Affairs Department for The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, died suddenly Jan. 26 at age 57 in Salt Lake City.
“Mr. President, I consider it a privilege to have worked alongside Elder Keetch over the past several years,” said Flake, a member of the LDS Church. “I was able to witness firsthand the love he had for his wife, the pride he had in his children, and the devotion he had for the gospel of Jesus Christ. I am grateful for his guidance, counsel, and friendship.”
Flake’s comments can be watched and read on the Senate’s website.
Flake previously spoke about President Thomas S. Monson to the Senate floor after the president’s passing.
