Chelsie Hightower and Rob Landes, both members of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, offered a musical tribute to Linkin Park’s Chester Bennington, who passed away last week, with a video performance on Facebook Wednesday.
“Most of you know he passed away this last weekend, so this is our tribute to him,” Hightower said before playing a keyboard and singing while Landes played his violin.
The salute to Bennington was the beginning of a 34-minute session in which Hightower, known for her stints on “Dancing With The Stars” and “So You Think You Can Dance,” acted as the host with Landes as her guest. The duo interacted, told stories, and responded to questions from followers on Facebook.
“Describe yourself in five adjectives,” Hightower said.
“You warned me you’d give me a hard one. … Can we do under five or five exactly?” Landes said. “I love composing, writing and performing. That’s a thrill for me.”
Landes, a returned LDS missionary and prominent YouTube violinist, was featured in a 2016 Deseret News article.
Hightower openly shared her faith and personal experiences as a member of the LDS Church in a 2016 Deseret News article.
