Members of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and missionaries can work together more effectively, thanks to a new feature on LDS Tools and LDS.org.
Members can now send referrals on their phones directly to missionaries and participate in the process as their friends are contacted and taught.
Once a referral is submitted, it is automatically assigned to missionaries where the friend lives. The member is then able to see contact information for the missionaries as well as the bishop and ward mission leader in that friend’s area. Members can also help with lessons via phone or video chat.
As members contact the missionaries and become more involved with referrals, they will be able to help the missionaries “understand (their) friend’s needs, interests, questions, and preferred method of communication.”
To submit a referral on LDS Tools, members can click on the Missionary section, tap the button at the bottom of the screen and fill in the friend’s contact information. Submitting a referral on LDS.org is similar as members can click on “Refer a Friend” under the “Share the Gospel” tab and follow the instructions.
More details about this new missionary referral process are explained here.
